Ye Olde Black Market is a small collective of makers based in Christchurch, New Zealand, creating cloaks, curiosities, and other mostly legal goods.

Our Artists

The Pagan Smithy
After nearly a decade at the forge, including demonstrations at the Plains Museum in Ashburton, NZ, he is now stepping into the market and offering his wares for the first time.

Lorewoven
Sewing from a young age, she specialises in pattern drafting and character-driven design, creating cloaks and cosplay pieces inspired by fantasy and history. Her work is made for LARP, but designed to pass seamlessly in the modern world.

Comfy Coop
Made by a young maker, these chickens proudly embrace their wonderfully derpy nature, each one handmade with its own unique personality.

What We Make

We create limited runs, with an emphasis on natural materials, rich texture, and designs that feel at home in fantasy, history, and somewhere in between. Everything is made with the intention of being worn, used, and enjoyed, not just displayed.

If Something Isn't Right

We stand by what we make, but if anything isn't quite right, let us know. Your piece should feel as good as it looks. For faults or workmanship issues, we're happy to cover return shipping and fix it so you end up with something you truly love.

 

Shipping

We ship out of Christchurch, New Zealand within three days of order. Shipping prices are included in the cost of the item, so no surprises when you go to check out. We may  be Ye Olde Black Market, but we do our best to be transparent.
